Delicious Bath Bombs
Put your magick into these whenever it feels best for you, but regardless, don't forget to make them with love, intention, and mindfulness.
We'd been planning to make our bath bombs for way too long now, and after Maddie's recuperative bath today, and an online three hour visit with an also-sick friend, we decided that today was the day.
I've been making this same recipe for years, sometimes at Christmas/Yule I give these as part of a gift basket. They're my very favorite, and to me much better than anything commercial that I've ever tried.
Gather your ingredients.
Some might not have these things on supply at home all the time, but chances are if you often make your own soaps, lotions, and balms, you have all of the ingredients on hand.
You'll need:
10 tbs baking soda
5 tbs cornstarch
5 tbs citric acid
1/2 tbs water
1/2 tsp borax
1 1/2 tbs oil (grapeseed, almond, sunflower, etc)
Mix the baking soda, cornstarch, and citric acid together. If your citric acid is clumpy, break up all the balls first. Sift with a whisk, to mix the three well.
In a small jar, combine the oil, water, borax, and essential oils. The fragrance is to taste... start with about 25 or so drops, and then see how it smells.
After mixing it well, slowly drizzle the oils over the powder mixture, mixing it in with your hands as you go.
When it's all mixed in, you can pack it into molds if you like-- we always squeeze them tight between our hands, packing and rotating as we go.
Each batch of this size will make 4-6 bath bombs.
Let the bombs set for 24 hours.
We always wrap them in wax paper, and tie them with ribbon.
We used pink ribbon for rose and rose geranium, green for camphor, melissa and chamomile, and lavender for lavender and orange.
If keeping for yourself, you can store them, individually wrapped, in large glass jars, with a coordinating-colored ribbon for easy identification.
If you're giving them as gifts, make a nice gift tag, describing the fragrance, intention, or magick that went into the gift.
